Aussie middle-order batsman, Michael http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120, is determined to achieve success as the new skipper and believes that the South African conditions will suit his fast bowlers.
The new skipper, who took over from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RT-Ponting-c2377 after the World Cup 2011, led the team to a successful tour of the sub-continent, beating Sri Lana in three Tests (1-0) and five-match One Day (3-2) series.
Under unfamiliar conditions for most of the young squad, the bowlers bowled exceptionally well on tracks which offered little in terms of pace and bounce. Batsman also toyed hard, with the ball not coming on to the bat.
Now the Kangaroos travel to take on the Proteas and face a challenge that promises to produce fireworks. Clarke recognizes the fact that his pacers will find it encouraging to bowl under favorable conditions; however, he admits that it will be tough.
"But http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758,
“said Clarke.
The skipper also felt that the setting in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 is similar to South Africa, so practicing at home will ensure everyone is a good stead ahead of the crucial battle.
"I think the advantage we have for the guys that are home can now prepare in Australian conditions, which are very similar to South African conditions. The next week or so that'll be my plan, to do as much batting as I can…,”said Clarke.
The series will start from October 13 with the sides locked in the first T20, played at Newlands Capetown.
With most of the Aussie players plying their trade in the subcontinent for the past six months, including the World Cup, a series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747, one against Sri Lanka and then the Champions League T20, the team will need to adapt to the Proteas conditions.
