Michael Clarke excited about his IPL debut – Cricket News Update
After abstaining from the Indian Premier League for four seasons, the Australian skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Warriors-c861 India sometime in the coming week.
Speaking to media reporters from Roseau, after his team concluded the eight-week long tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 with a 2-1 Test series victory, Clarke said that he was quite excited about playing his first ever IPL.
"The crowds look fantastic (at the IPL) and it's going to be nice,” said http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 won the third and last Test against the Windies by 75 runs.
“To be honest with you, to be back playing some Twenty20 cricket, I'm looking forward to that. I've never been to the IPL," he added further.
The 31-year-old http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 at Perth. He had offered his name in the IPL auction
only once, in the second edition of the league, but later pulled out of the reckoning in favour of national duty.
Even in this year’s IPL players auction, held in Bangalore earlier in February, the right-hander had not forwarded his name for selection. However, he was made an offer by the Sahara based IPL franchise after seeking approval from the BCCI and IPL's governing
council, which the Australian skipper accepted after deliberations.
At Pune, Clarke will be playing under former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sourav-Chandidas-Ganguly-c90746 and the Australian said that he has no problem with this.
"I think that Sourav's always been a nice guy. I've always got along with him well and I look forward to playing under him,” said the 31-year-old middle-order batsman, who is also a handy part-time spinner.
“It seems like he's doing a really good job as captain-coach over there. I've spoken to a couple of the boys and they seem to be really happy about how things are. So, yeah, for me it's an eye-opener," the Australian skipper added further.
Currently Pune stand at number seven on the IPL-5 points table with four wins in nine matches.
