http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-Clarke-c1978 hints at making changes for the 3rd Test – Cricket News Update
Having lost two consecutive Tests against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, Michael Clarke, the Australian captain, is extremely disappointed and feels that the team needs to raise its game in both batting and bowling departments, if they have any chance of making a comeback in the
series.
After being thrashed in the first Test of the four-match series at Chennai by eight wickets, the Kangaroos faced a real hammering in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hyderabad-c792 Test, as the Men in Blue won the fixture by a mammoth margin of an innings and 135 runs.
The visitors dropped http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120 and company, which is the reason why sporting analysts are expecting the team management to make some more changes, both in the
playing eleven as well as in the batting order.
Apart from Clarke and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Moises-Henriques-c2021, none of the Australian batsmen has been able to make a massive impression in the series so far.
However, the Aussie skipper believes that it is not just the batting which needs to be addressed; in fact, the bowlers also have to raise their game against a quality Indian batting line-up. The cricketer from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823 made it clear that he will not
be reluctant to make some changes for the third Test, which begins in Mohali on March 14.
“We have to look at both areas that's for sure,” Clarke said. “Both have been unacceptable, both aren't good enough. We have to try and find ways to improve and if that means making changes that's what we have to do. We made a couple
of changes for this Test match.”
Clarke also praised the performance of the Indian team, especially http://www.senore.com/Cricket/M-Vijay-c1867, who accumulated 370 runs for the second-wicket partnership in the first innings, which happens to be a record for India in Test cricket.
“I want to pay credit to India, the way [Cheteshwar] Pujara and Vijay played. Our bowlers in patches bowled really well but they were able to stay together and not lose their wicket and bat patiently,” the Aussie skipper added.
