Michael Clarke loves playing at the SCG – Cricket News Update
Australian skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-Clarke-c1978 reveals his love for the Sydney Cricket Ground, and believes that his side will go into the second Test in a confident frame of mind due to their success at the historic stadium.
The venue will stage its 100th Test and a panel comprising of greats from the yesteryear also named the best Australian XI and the greatest World XI to have played at this prestigious ground.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120, who was not named in the Kangaroos all time XI, still has fond memories of playing at this venue  despite not having the best of time with the bat in recent times.
In his 77 career matches till date, the skipper has featured in 7 Tests, scoring a solitary century knock of 138 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 while averaging a meagre 28.25 as compared with his career average which stands at a healthy 45.82.
His last bout at this venue came against the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, where the Aussies suffered an embarrassing loss by an innings margin. However, he still considers his home ground as one his favourite places to play cricket and hopes that his side can build on the first
Test victory against the Men In Blue to their advantage, when they take on the tourists in the second five-day game staged at the SCG.
“It's a great ground, it's my favourite to play and we've had a lot of success here at the SCG, so we're confident walking out onto that ground. It doesn't guarantee anything, but we're playing in front of our home crowd, for a lot of the guys it's their
home ground as New South Welshmen and we're excited about this second Test match, it's a great time of year as well obviously to be playing Test cricket, said Clarke.
He also revealed the change in the conditions since he started here, where the pitches now tend to offer plenty of assistance to the pacers as compared with the old times, which helped
predominantly the spinners.
However, the spin friendly nature has allowed him to get equipped to play in the sub-continent where his technique of coming down the track has helped him to play the best of the spinners with great effect.
