Michael http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 has enabled him to claim his maiden Test victory as a leader.
In his words with The Sydney Morning Herald, Clarke has praised http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Harris-c61739, calling him a 'great guy'.
The pacer bowled very well in his sixth International Test, taking five wickets for just 62 runs in the second innings of Sri Lanka at Galle International Stadium. The match was played from August 31 to September 3.
After a tough competition, the Aussies won the game by 125 runs, thanks to Harris’s outstanding bowling spell, which picked some jewels from the batting line-up of Sri Lanka. Harris bowled the rivals’ ace batting trio, including http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TM-Dilshan-c2691, Mahela
Jayawardene and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/HAPW-Jayawardene-c1529.
The newly-appointed captain believes that his team can regain its lost pride and prestige in Test cricket with the help of talented guys like Harris.
Clarke said, “What a bowler. What a bloke. great guy to have in your team. Will do anything for the team and at any stage, give him the new ball, give him the old ball, even into the breeze, he doesn't care. He loves playing for
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 and we love having him around.”
He further told, “He's in pretty good hands I think, Alex (Kountouris) our physio is a genius. He manages to keep a lot of us on the park daily so I'm really confident we can keep http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Daniel-David-Cherry-c52246 (Harris) around for a bit longer yet.”
The captain expects the pacer to extend his momentum to the remaining two matches as well and help his side win the series and take a leap towards their lost Test rank.
Harris, who made his Test debut in March 2010 against New Zeeland, has played 6 matches so far, grabbing 25 wickets. His highest bowling average in Test cricket so far has been 6/47.
Team Australia has won the ODI series 3-2 against the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lions-c808 and now they are h**l-bent to claim the Test series as well.
