Michael Clarke has been named as the captain of the Aussie cricket team....(as Ponting is suffering from a wrist injury).........

do you think he was the best choice as captain.......?

yes.. and Aussies Cricket Body is starting to build a new leader.. cause Ponting will retire in 2-3 year.. and hes the best choice.. he has skill and ability to lead

Clarky's cool. We always knew he would replace Ponting one day, and although this is temporary, it will be permanent when Punter steps down.

Michael has been recognised as the next captain after Ponting for some time now, so it is no surprise to us Aussies that he will replace Ponting in the coming 3 ODI series V Bangladesh. Although Ponting's wrist shows good signs of recovering well, it was thought advisable that he give this series a miss in order to make sure there was no recurrence of the injury.

Yes Michael Clarke is the best and obvious choice as stand in Captain..

He is our Vice Captain at the moment,but he has proven he is going to be a fantastic replacement when ever Ricky Ponting does retire...

Michael has a good record as captain for Australia too..

This is great practice for when he gets the top job...

We all know Ponting wont be around forever (especially if his run of bad form continues) and if Ponting's not around forever, then Australia need to groom a new captain and Michael Clarke is the best choice to be the next Australian captain.

Clake will gain experience of captaining (and winning) an Australian side, and by "grooming" a new captain, Australia can make sure that they dont get in the same position as England, where a player is given the captaincy after having no experience.

Clarke was always going to be a future Australian captain and i'm sure he will make a very successful one

Clarke has look been in the mind of the selectors as a natural successor to Ponting and it's easy to see why. He's matured a lot in the last few years both outside of the game and on the field. He's shown that he's a good leader in the games that he's captained and commands the respect of the other players. He's the best choice for the captain and was always more likely to get it over players like Hussey (who had a disastrous series of one-dayers) and he's young enough to be able to progress the team long after the likes of Hayden, Symmonds and Ponting et al have retired. I think he'll do very well when he finally takes over from Ponting on a full time basis.
