Under the Argus recommendation, there will be five members on the selection panel, including the Kangaroos' Captain and Coach.
While Clarke’s position is secured, uncertainty surrounds the role of the current head coach, and more importantly, Chappell’s involvement in the team’s selection policy.
It is believed that the talent manager, who is currently with the team, will leave his post after the three-day practice match in Colombo.
"I'm not sure to be honest. At this stage he's still here. I know he's here for the three-day practice game but I'm not sure if he's staying throughout the Test matches," http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120 said of Chappell.
Regarding his elevated role as a member of the selection panel, he hoped to get the best XI selected, while claiming that no personal grudges will influence him in any capacity, what so ever.
“….. Obviously now being an official selector you'll have a bit more of a say”, he said. “None of the decisions I make will ever be personal, it'll be all about what's best for the team and I've tried to do that from day one."

The 30-year-old led from the front, captivating the Player of the Series award, for his outstanding performance in limited overs Internationals. In 5 matches, he scored 242 runs, at 121.00.
However, the bigger task is ahead when the two sides lock horns in the three-match Test series, scheduled to start on August 31, 2011.
For that, he believed that the three-day tour match will be crucial for some of the youngsters to give a good account and get use to the conditions.
