Australian captain, Michael Clarke, has shown immense disappointment over the performance of his side in the recently concluded Test match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757, at Newlands in Cape Town.
After losing the 1st match of the 2 Tests by 8 wickets, the Aussie skipper warned his teammates, and urged them to concentrate on their performance if they want to keep their place in the side.
The 30-year-old batsman asserted that the way the Australian players performed during the Cape Town Test is not acceptable at all.
"We're not kids. We can't be baby-sited. If you can't take responsibility for that, you shouldn't be in this team,” http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120 quoted while talking to the reporters.
Earlier, the Australian batsmen failed to face the fast bowlers of the home side during their second inning, as they were bowled out on just 47.
The way the Aussie batting line collapsed, has compelled Clarke to warn the players to perform according to their potential.
According to him, they should have performed better against South Africa, as they did against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 in the recently finished series.
"That's what international cricket is all about. You travel the world and play in different conditions. We managed to do that in Sri Lanka. We need to do that here. We obviously haven't done that,” he added in same interview.
Meanwhile, the New South Wales-born, who was appointed as Australia’s captain after the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 World Cup 2011, claimed that when the home side bowled them out on 47 runs, it was the worst day of his career.
Furthermore, Clarke, who has served his country in 73 Tests, and 206 One Day Internationals, scoring 5109 and 6622 runs with an impressive average of 46.87 and 45.35 respectively, expressed hope that his side will perform well
in the future.
"I've never had a day like that in my career. Hopefully I don't have too many more, either," the captain continued.
Meanwhile, Australia’s skipper, who started his International career in 2003, urged the Australian batsmen to play according to the requirement of the longer format of the game.
