http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MG-Johnson-c1945 and asked fans to be patient with the speedster.
The 30-year-old was out of international cricket since November, 2011, when he injured his foot during the series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 but failed to break into the playing-XI for
the first match at the Lord’s.
An injury to Pat Cummins before the second One Day International (ODI) at the Oval provided an opportunity to the left-arm fast bowler to prove his potential once again.
However, Johnson failed to make an impression as he looked extremely inconsistent with his line and length and gave away too many loose balls. On top of that, the cricketer from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Queensland-c834 bowled a number of no-balls, which took the pressure off the English
batsmen.
He gave away 43 runs in his seven overs and went wicket-less. As a result, the Kangaroos lost the match and conceded a 2-0 lead in the series to the home team.
Clarke is disappointed to have lost the second match on the trot but backed Johnson and expressed that he should be given time to settle down in international cricket again.
“It's his first game back as well so it's going to take a bit of time, but Mitch was really looking forward to his opportunity today. It was unfortunate we couldn't get a win up, but it is great to have him back around the group,” he said.
The Aussie skipper is disappointed to have lost the services of Cummins, who is one of the best young fast bowlers of the world, but the middle-order batsman has confidence on Johnson and hopes that the senior cricketer will live up to the expectations in
the remainder of the tour.
Clarke expressed, "http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120 said. "Pat Cummins has got that x-factor, and we thought Mitch does as well, he's left-arm so he brought something different, and as you've
seen today he's swinging the ball."
