Australian skipper Michael on Tuesday played down talks of his batsmen’s vulnerability against spin bowling, saying they would not be intimidated by Indian spinners in the forthcoming four-match Test series, starting in Chennai on Friday, February 22, 2013.
While speaking to media reporters at a press conference, here in Chennai, the visiting skipper insisted that the current Australian squad is capable of winning on turning Indian tracks.
"We will not certainly be intimated by the player whom we are playing against. We need to have success from every single delivery that we face. We have got a good squad, we have got plenty of good choices in spin bowling, batting and fielding," Clarke said.
"I do not think that we can look too much into how India are going to play and what conditions will suit them best. In Indian conditions the ball spins as the pitch deteriorates and also has variations and bounces as well. I think the reverse swing is also very important. But, as I said we have the capability to do well in India," the Aussie skipper went on to add.

Clarke, however, refused to comment on Bhajji’s remarks. He further said that their focus was not on the opposition, but completely on their own performance.
“The focus of the Australian team is not on Indian team but completely on us to make sure that we are well prepared as we can be. When asked about Harbhajan’s claims, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120 simply said that it was nice to see him back in the Indian squad. Commenting on his batsmen’s struggle against slow bowlers in the practice matches, the Australian skipper said that the spinners got more wickets because they bowled more overs.
