Michael Clarke urges Aussies to focus on form
Michael Clarke, the Australian vice Captain has seriously taken into consideration this thought that their Team needs to focus on form. His comments were a wakeup call for the whole Australian Team as comments reflected a sense of realization of current
events for his Team.
He said that Australia needs to forget the upcoming Ashes series and they must focus on getting back to form in the current series against Sri Lanka. Australia on Wednesday lost from a winning position, and it has placed many questions in front of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746.
Michael http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 managed an almost impossible victory by one wicket.
Clarke was upset over this fact that his Team was not able to seal a comfortable win from a strong position when Sri Lanka were 108-8 and the match was positioned in Australia’s favor.
Michael Clarke was of the view that The Ashes is great and everybody is focusing on it but they should be focusing on what is in front of them right now. Ashes fever is in the air and players do become excited about such big events but Clarke’s comments
highlight this aspect that if they are unable to focus on the present series then they would not be able to prepare well for the Ashes series.
He said that to lose a game from that position is disappointing and what is more painful is that it has not happened for the first time. In the recent past Australia has been losing matches from winning positions and it really questions the current Australian
lineup which at one time was able to show miracle performances.
He also said that they were very close to victory but in the end could not manage to finish the game off. He said that this is the issue which they have been facing for a while in all forms of the game. The recent example of Aussies being unable to finish
the game was in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 when India won the first Test match of the Border Gavaskar series by one wicket. Had the Australians been able to take the last wicket they would have easily levelled the two match series 1-1.
Micheal Clarke was also of this view that he has been asking questions to himself that what he could have done better in the match, and he could have bowled some other bowler at a different time.
It was a noticeable factor in the One Day match that Clarke did not opt for the aggressive Steven Smith after the 25th over. Steven Smith bowled a good three over’s by giving 8 runs in 3 over’s with an economy rate of 2.66.
Michael Clarke said that their side was not able to make a big total on a good batting wicket but he also considers this fact that they had the Sri Lankan’s at 107-8. Australian media was also critical of their performance and highlighted that they were
not able to finish the opponent off. Clarke also praised Angelo Mathew’s brilliant performance with the bat.
