Michael Clarke urges Australian selectors to use Pat Cummins properly – Cricket News Update

Australia’s skipper, Michael Clarke, has beseeched the national selectors to devise a calculated strategy to use the young pacer, Pat Cummins, for the uplift of the team in the long run.

The captain opines that it is not good for the fitness of the youngster to play each and every game for the Aussies, so the selectors must use him rotationally.

Clarke strongly believes that Cummo is going to become a rock-star cricketer in the future, and will prove to be a precious asset for his national team. He avows that if the team management does not manage his International commitments at this moment, the
speedster may lose the form which he has started with.

Talking to the media today, he said, “He is as good an athlete in the field as we've had come into this team for a while. We've got to be smart, though. I don't think it's possible for Paddy right now to play all forms of the game for Australia.”

Clarke further told, “To play every single game, I think would be silly. That's only my opinion. We need to speak to the selectors and we need to make a plan for him, because he's got a bright future. He's got the potential to be an amazing cricketer for
Australia, and we have to be smart and make sure we look after him.”

The captain has come up to appreciate the young gun in the backdrop of his outstanding performance in his maiden Test match against South Africa. Cummins stunned all by grabbing a 7-wicket haul and contributing some crucial runs in the game which the Oz
side won by 2 wickets.

The 18-year-old made his International debut during the ongoing tour. He played his first ODI on October 19. The right-arm pacer has 5 wickets each in 3 ODIs and 2 T20I games.

Cummins has earned great admiration from International cricketing circles following his startling Test debut. In Australia, he is being expected to fill the boots of the former bowling legends like Glenn McGrath. He is honoured to have appeared on the world
stage with just 4 First-Class matches to his profile.
