http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120, has advised his boys to stay away from the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) and focus on their physical fitness so that they can shoulder their national duties better.
The captain admits that the IPL gives immense revenue to cricketers along with opportunity to make choices, but he considers this to be unfair and unethical in a sense that the foremost duty of a player is to play for the nation which he belongs to and which
gives him a chance to earn fame.
Clarke is of the view that there is abundance of international cricket all around for the Aussies so they do not need to bother about the league by putting their bodies at risk.
Talking to the media today, the New South Wales-born guy who himself has never gone for the IPL, said, “There is a lot of international cricket. I just don't want to see players not prioritising international cricket. That is my goal, that every player who
plays for Australia, that (role) is first and foremost, and Test cricket being the pinnacle of that.”
He further elaborated, “The one thing I love about IPL is that every individual has the opportunity to make their own choice. But I think the individual player needs to work out where his body is and make that decision at the time of going into the IPL."

in 2012. Apart from him, another Oz pacer, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MG-Johnson-c1945, is also a contender for the event.
Interesting to note is the fact that both these players are injured at the moment and not playing for the team in the ongoing home Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750.
Clarke, who has 75 Test, 206 ODI and 34 T20I matches to his credit, strongly believes that domestic cricket should never bar a cricketer from playing international fixtures as the latter one is more important in terms of rules and ethics.
