Clarke said that all of the four players are doubtful for next week’s first Test of the two-match series against New Zealand.
“Harris and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Simon-James-Marshall-c90362 were sent home and we’re waiting to hear on them. Johnson had a scan that was inconclusive…he’s certainly in doubt for the first Test as well,” said Clarke while talking to the media reporters on his return home from Johannesburg on Wednesday.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823 batsman told the media reporters that they have not yet received an OK report from the physios.
Prolific all-rounder, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MG-Johnson-c1945 has an injured big toe.
“There would have to be some sort of doubt (about Watson). I don ‘t know the extent of what’s come back on the scan but we haven’t got that much time to get him right so I’d say he’s certainly in doubt,” Clarke said when asked about Clarke’s chances of making
Brisbane Test squad.
Clarke revealed that he is scheduled to have a selection meeting on Thursday and hoped the team for Brisbane Test will be announced shortly after that meeting. Replying to a query regarding expected changes in the squad, the Australia skipper said, “There’s
obviously going to be some changes come the first Test because of injuries, no doubt.” However, he remained tight-lipped when asked to hint at the anticipated changes.
Clarke also backed Cricket http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Timothy-John-Nielsen-c94043. He said that he has no issues with appointment of a foreign coach for the first time in the history of Australian
cricket, adding that he is looking forward to working with Arthur.
