http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Dawson-c25288’s return delayed with setback, Tottenham Hotspur defender confirms
Tottenham Hotspur defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international picked up the injury some five
weeks ago and was initially ruled out for about two months.
However, Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp revealed the player was making considerable progress on his recovery and could be back sooner than expected. Redknapp was given hope after Dawson reportedly started jogging, without his protective boot.
The early comeback does not seem possible after Dawson reported he had been told by the medical team to return to light workout instead of jogging. He admitted he was disappointed with the setback, which meant his return would be delayed.
Dawson said on the club’s official website:
“I was outside running earlier in the week but the Achilles was still a little sore, so I've had to take a step back and concentrate on working in the gym.”
He did reveal the setback was no cause for concern since it was just a precautionary measure by the physiotherapists. The English central defender was understandably disappointed with the injury, which would see him miss out some important fixtures for his
side.
He revealed:
“It's so disappointing to be injured and I was with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tom-Huddlestone-c35227 in the gym this week, he's also out, and it's a hard time for a footballer, it's the side of the game people don't see.”
Dawson has already gone on to miss the last seven games for the London side and revealed he was working hard on his return. The player is currently in recovery along with Tom Huddlestone, with the midfielder recently having had an operation on ankle.
Even while being sidelined with injury, Dawson has been keeping a close watch on his teammates and their performance in the Premier League. The defender revealed he had been extremely pleased with the win in the North London derby at White Hart Lane.
The Spurs secure all three points with a narrow 2-1 win over Arsenal last weekend, which sees them climb to the top half of the Premier League table. Dawson praised his teammates, including the match winner http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526
and Scott Parker.
Dawson continued:
“It was great for Kyle but all the lads were fantastic. Scott Parker, (Emmanuel) Adebayor have come in and been great. We've got all the flair players in the world, but Scotty has been fantastic, and back-to-front we were great against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429.”
