Essien played as a left-back during Madrid’s win against Celta Vigo and with the Spanish champions missing out on all three of their full-backs; the former Chelsea player was able to impress the fans in the make-shift role.
Michael Essien was yet again called up by Jose Mourinho, who played the former Chelsea man as a left-back during the game against Celta Vigo.

However, the former Chelsea coach did his homework and knew the perfect back-line which he was able to play against Celta Vigo.
While many thought that Mourinho will find it difficult to play without his first-choice defenders, he was able to send out a strong defensive line-up.

The Ghanaian holding midfielder said that he is ready to sacrifice as long as the team is getting the all-important points in not only La Liga but also in the Champions League.
While speaking about how he wants to play more for Los Blancos, Michael Essien said:
“I’m happy to play anywhere if Mourinho wants me to. I always work hard and I’ll sacrifice myself if it helps us get three very important points.”
“It’s going to be a tough game in a difficult stadium but we have the players to beat them, although we must all be at our best.”
Real Madrid won the game against Celta Vigo and now they are going to turn their focus on the Champions League where they take on the challenge of the German giants, Borussia Dortmund.
The Spanish giants have won all their fixtures in the European competition and they are currently the favourites to lift the trophy of the prestigious competition.
