I would like any info on my grandfather, Michael Gazda. He was in the 101st in WW2, stationed in Japan after the war, went back to Fort Benning and taught jump school, then went and fought with the 17th in Korea (this is the guidline we came up with) He had post raumatic stress disorder after being discharged and became and alcoholic and dide before I was born...my dad says he doesnt even remember him except for one time when he showed up at their house in Trenton, NJ...From photos he was tall, black curly hair, and blue eyes (my dad remembers that). We have some of he military records...anyone who has any info on him or knew him or about him (that would be great) please let me know.

I also have a book from the war dept of the pentagon with all the names of people from the 513 who were injured, kia, mia, or a pow in ww2. I can look someone up if you wish.

THANKS!

  1. If you have his DD-109 (?) that will sum up his wartime experience. The 101st Airborne has a VERY honorable legacy - and presence. There are many Veteran's Organizations which will help you. Try on line to find the one for the 513th. That's your best bet, I think.
