Michael Hussey challenges http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 ahead of Test series – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MEK-Hussey-c1942, the Australian batsman, predicts that the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Indian team will face stiff competition in the upcoming 4 match Test series, which starts on Boxing Day.
Hussey and Dhoni are teammates in Chennai Super Kings, a franchise of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Commenting on Dhoni's abilities, Hussey said, the boy from Bihar is a cool and calm person under pressure, and leads from the front. However, Hussey is
keen to deny the Indian team a first ever Test series victory down under by playing well.
Speaking to the media today, Hussey said, “He's a great guy to have around. He's very calm, relaxed and takes pressure off the players. He has enjoyed great success but we would give him a very tough time in Australia.”
The star batsman hopes that the Australian team will deny http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Tendulkar-c2556 his 100th International century, but does say that the ‘Little Master’ is not under any pressure to reach the milestone. He is an accomplished batsman who has played under
fans' pressure since his debut.
He said, “I hope he doesn't get it against Australia. He's been a number one player for so long, it's a credit to his character, but I hope he doesn't get his 100th hundred in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746. I don't think he is under any pressure though. He knows his own game
so well. He has been under pressure for so long. The way the public has been with Tendulkar in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750.”
Mr. Cricket also dismissed the general perception that Indian batsmen will struggle on Australian pitches, and went on to praise the quality of Tendulkar, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/V-Sehwag-c2739, who can score big runs.
Hussey was fortunate not to be dropped from the Australian squad, as his poor batting performances against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 have people questioning his place in the team. The left-handed batsman realises that the stakes are high and he needs
to get runs in the series.
The 36-year-old has played 66 Test, 166 One Day Internationals and 27 T20I matches so far. His batting averages in both the 5-day and 50-over formats have been above 50.
