Australian middle-order batsman, Michael Hussey has complimented the bowling of Proteas pacer, Dale Steyn, while comparing him with his teammate, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Brett-Lee-c48419.
Steyn was given a lengthy break by the South African management, where the seamer missed the T20 series between the two teams. However, his slated return to the ODI side has not been swift, with him going for plenty of runs in the opening two games.
The first match, which the Australian won by a whopping margin of 93 runs saw the pacer concede 48 runs from six overs. His return in the second ODI was better, giving away 57 runs in 10, with the Proteas winning the game by a margin of 80.
Although the figures might not be eye-catching, Hussey noticed the improvement in his bowling over the course of the two games. “I faced him in both games. I think he has improved from the first game to the second game without doubt,” said Hussey.
The Kangaroo left-hander compared Steyn with one of his teammates Brett Lee. Lee, nursing an injury which ruled him out of the ODI series, was once considered as the fastest bowler in World Cricket. However, over the years, he has brought variation in his
game, which has helped him prolong his stint with the national team, and Hussey believed that the Proteas pacer is doing the same.
“I think he’s becoming a more complete bowler much like Brett Lee who, throughout the course of his career, started off as just a firebrand, bowled as fast as he could every ball but Brett started to develop new tricks to his game and I think Dale’s doing
much the same at the moment,” Hussey explained.
With the series tied one a piece, it’s everything to play for when the two teams lock horn in the deciding game at Durban. Hussey, who has managed scores of 30* and 37, says that the team will have to approach the game in a confident manner in order to come
up trumps.
However, Steyn will be hoping to get better after below par performances and get the team to a first series wins under their new coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gary-Kirsten-c58527.
