Michael Hussey effectively played Royal Challengers
The Chennai Super Kings played an amazing innings at home against the Royal Challengers Bangalore on April, 16, 2011.
The hosts dominated the visitors, as they availed a 21–run victory in lightning fashion. One man laid the framework for the win and it was none other than Australian cricketer, Michael Hussey, who came out on top.
Hussey had the opportunity to face off against one of his rivals on the pitch and it meant a lot to score 83 runs for Chennai and put M.S. Dhoni’s men on top. The hard hitter was called in to play for the right situation on hand and he did so with his blistering
knock.
"I was more playing towards the situation of the team. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Murali-Vijay-c78035 and I wanted to get a good start”.
Hussey explained that it was always crucial to avail runs early on in the match, as the pitch and new ball presented a sublime opportunity on the ground.
"Vijay kick started the partnership, then when he got out, we had to start (again) a little bit. (It was a case of) reassessing as we went along the way", Hussey said.
Hussey faced the bowler, who had clipped him out of the quarter-finals in the 2011 World Cup, when http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 on the grand stage. That man was none other than Zaheer Khan. With some measure, most would think the batsman exacted revenge
on the seam bowler but the Australian dismissed the notions.
With Matthew Hayden’s departure from the club, Hussey and the rest of the Chennai squad has been adjusting to their new roles. For the moment, different situations are dictating various roles for the players and the Australian is adapting well.
"I think experience helps, having played in different situations of games. Basically you don't want to make it too complicated, even if you get out first ball, try to help the team you've still done your job".
The club is looking to strengthen its line up and Hussey recently mentioned Scott Styris to be one of the candidates for a role in the team.
