Micahel Hussey hopeful of playing in ICC World Cup 2011
The Australian selection board might give a World Cup call to Australian batsman, Michael Hussey, in place of Australian pace man, Doug Bollinger, who has been forced out from the International Cricket Council (ICC) 2011 World Cup squad, due to an injury.
It is expected that Hussey will take Bollinger’s place in the ongoing mega event, as the player is now perfectly fit and ready to play cricket at any level. Hussey, along with Dirk Nannes and Peter Siddle, is in contention to play in the World Cup in place of Doug Bollinger.
Michael Hussey, who is commonly known as Mr. Cricket, was forced out from the match against England during the Ashes Series of 2010-11, as he faced a hamstring injury. After recovering from surgery, he is fit to take part in the mega event in 2011.
Mr. Cricket is one of the finest batsman in Australia’s cricket team. He has played more than 150 One Day Internationals (ODIs) with an average 51.96 and has scored 4469 runs.
He played his first ODI against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 in 2004 at Perth. He was last seen in match against England in the Ashes series 2010-11. He was injured in this match and has not been on the cricket scene since then.
Hussey, 35, is fully prepared and ready to make his return to cricket by playing for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/March-c74391 2011 at the Western Australia Cricket Association, Perth.
Hussey after his recovery said, "It seems like an age since I've played a game of cricket so I'm really looking forward to getting out there".
He also added that he has been feeling good and fit after his recovery. He said that he has no plans to retire from cricket any time soon and has a lot of cricket and talent still left in him. He loves to play cricket for his homeland, Australia.
After reaching the age of 30, playing cricket is a very tough game. Hussey said that he would like to make players like Sachin Tendulkar his source of inspiration and confidence, as the guy is playing in his 30s.
