http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MEK-Hussey-c1942 lauds Shaun Marsh for his magnificent maiden Test innings – Cricket News Update
Michael Hussey, the middle-order Australian batsman, has showered a lot of admiration on his young teammate and Test debutant, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 at Pallekele International Stadium. He opines that the youngster has employed
a new approach towards his game and is in good form now.
At the end of the Day 2 of Australia’s 2nd Test, Marsh removed his gloves after scoring 87 runs not-out with the help of 12 fours. Hussey, who shared a hundred-run partnership with Marsh, was unbeaten on 89.
Marsh’s excellent batting put his team in command as they scored 264 for the loss of just 3 wickets in their first innings after restricting the Lankans to 174.
Hussey argued that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Simon-James-Marshall-c90362 has gained enough maturity and started understanding the techniques of the game. He stated that the debutant has stunned his critics by playing with passion and strength.
Talking to the media, Hussey stated, “It's been well documented that early in his career he was a bit inconsistent but I think if you look at the way he's played in the last two or three years in first-class cricket he's been a lot more consistent. I think
he knows his game now a lot better than he did four or five seasons ago. That bodes well for the future.”
He further told, “I think that'll be very good for him to know and it's good for us from a team point of view that we know we've got as good as Shaun Marsh that can come into the team at any time."
Marsh, the son of the former Australian opener, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Geoffrey-Robert-Marsh-c58893, was under fire by critics who opposed his selection in the current Test squad.
The 28-year-old has played 35 ODIs and scored 1244 runs since making his International debut in 2008. Apart from it, he has 61 First Class, 87 List A and 58 T20 matches to his name.
Hussey believes that this series will prove to be a great breakthrough for the young guy, helping him cement his place in the Test wing.
