Michael Hussey not too concerned about his place in the Australian team – Cricket News Update
Australia’s left-handed middle-order batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 and expressed that he is under no pressure to keep his place in the Aussie Test team.
The Kangaroos remained the unmatched champions of the game for many years but this is not the case since last couple of years as the retirements of legendary cricketers like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adam-Gilchrist-c918 and Mathew Hayden really hampered the
performance of the Aussies in international cricket.
However, things have started to improve once again for the Australians with the emergence of some quality young players. The Aussie selectors are trying to build a new team by getting rid of the senior players slowly but gradually. In the recent times, seasoned
batsmen like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RT-Ponting-c2377 and Hussey have been under immense pressure to maintain their place in the team.
Hussey performed exceedingly well in the previous Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 at home and this is the reason why he feels that there is no threat to his place in the team at the present moment. The left handed batsman is geared up to deliver the goods in the
series in Caribbean, which is going to start today.
"I don't want to come into it thinking that if I don't perform I'm going to be out of the team. I still believe that I'm still part of something that we're trying to build, trying to get us back to the No.1 team in the world," said Hussey.
Hussey is known as ‘Mr. Cricket’ in the world of sport because of the energy and thrill he brings to the game. Most of the cricket analysts in the world feel that Hussey is unlucky that he could not break into the Aussie team earlier in his career as he
has been a prolific run-getter in first-class cricket since many years.
The left-hander feels that international cricket is all about handling pressure and every player has to perform consistently in order to maintain his place.
He added, "There's enough pressure on all the guys to perform anyway in Test match cricket or international cricket without having extra pressure on yourself by thinking that you have to perform, or else you'll be out."
