http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Watson-c2558 and Shaun Marsh’s inclusion for grand finale – Cricket News Update
Veteran Australian batsman, Michael Hussey, is confident of a good show against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 in the third and final One Day International (ODI) of the series, to be played at Kingsmead Durban, on Friday, October 28, 2011.
Both teams have secured one win and it is all to play for in the finals. Hussey is optimistic about all-rounder Shane Watson and batsman Shaun Marsh’s inclusion in the Australian outfit for the grand finale.
Australia’s chances of overcoming their opponents will be bright if both of these super stars feature in the finals. Watson is recovering from back spasms, while Marsh has recuperated from a shoulder injury.
Expecting the duo to be part of the Australian side, Hussey said, “We are hoping for both of them [to be ready]. If they are both fit it will give the captain, the coach and the selectors something to think about.”
The Aussies won the opening fixture but the hosts bounced back strongly in the second game, played on Sunday, October 23, at Port Elizabeth. South Africa posted a competitive total of 303 runs on the board; however, the tourists
were dismantled for 223.
Hussey wants his side to forget what happened in their previous outing and set their focus on the final. The left-hander was content about the enthusiasm shown by his side during the practice session.
Backing his side to triumph, Hussey said, “It's like a grand final for us and we are really looking forward to it. The intensity at training has probably been as high as I can remember in any Australian team. The boys have really
worked hard and that's why I think it's important not to dwell too much on a pretty ordinary day for us in our last game.”
Watson and Marsh also took part in the practice session. Both cricketers seemed to be at ease while batting in the nets; however, Watson did not bowl.
Marsh hasn’t played in the ODI series as yet, in the meantime, his replacement, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DA-Warner-c1301, has performed well batting at top of the order.
Warner, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Watson-c96326 are all opening batsmen, so the management is caught in the dilemma as to who they are going to play and at what position.
