Michael Jackson stands tall at Craven Cottage – the love co-exists: EPL special
The music in me has long standing roots. No matter what language, genre or the singer/band you lent your ears to the very first time, there is a thriller, a beat it and anything and everything that Michael Jackson is related to in the world of music, and
a piece of his artistry still beating in perfect harmony to our heartbeat.
Having died so prematurely and with full of riches of the best of melodies, Michael Jackson now stands tall at the Craven Cottage in Fulham.
Mohamed Al Fayed, often called erratic and controversial, is the father of Dodi Fayed and a former owner to Harrods at Knightsbridge. Dodi lost his life in a tragic accident in Paris alongside Princess Diana. Al Fayed blamed MI6 for the accident and was
called ludicrous
Some Fulham fans have come out strongly at their club’s owner. They deem that unveiling the King of Pop’s statue is a direct insult to all the legends of the game associated with Fulham Football Club. One has to question their sense of comprehension. The
hue and cry is baseless and without any substance.
Al Fayed has made his intentions clear. He is looking to attract Michael Jackson’s fans from all over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, ideally the entire world, to come and witness the statue and the club for the love of the music and the game alike.
The less absurd people have questioned the venue of Michael Jackson’s and say that his hometown of Gary, Indiana may have been a better place. Others call for Madison Square Garden. Michael may have been born American but he is truly the biggest star the
world has ever produced. He is truly global. He is beyond nationality.
From the smallest of streets to Craven Cottage his statue can be anywhere in the world. It holds the same value for his fans. It will be just as fondly looked at. Before watching Fulham play, the fans will look at the statue and smile. Up on exit, they will
still cherish the singer (no matter what the result of the game has been). That is the effect of Michael Jackson on an everyday man. That is what Fulham fan will feel.
The kind of sentiments that have come as result of this unveiling is deplorable. At the same time, it is sad to see that this even has not met been met with jubilation and has instead attracted a lot of criticism.
A Facebook page has already been setup to launch a protest of unveiling Michael Jackson’s statue. A small group of protestors also attended the unveiling ceremony to voice their anger.
Mohammed Al Fayed has stood his ground firmly. His team’s manager has also come out in support of his boss. "http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Jackson was truly a legend, a term used too often in this modern world, saturated in the hyperbole surrounding celebrity," said Fayed.
Mark Hughes said, “The chairman has done fantastic things for this club and if he wants to do this that’s fine by us.”
Michael Jackson was involved with the club and came to witness a match between the home club and Wigan Athletic. Fulham won that match 2-0. Michael Jackson was also a personal friend to Mohammed Al Fayed.
No matter what others may think, there can never be a clash of ‘http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Love-c22466 for Fulham football’ and ‘love for Michael Jackson’. Both run passionately and side by side. They can and they will co-exist.
