According to recept reports, Australia's former bowling spearhead, Michael Kasprowicz, will be joining the national cricket governing body, Cricket Australia (CA), to represent his local state, Queensland.
The appointment came after the player’s domestic board, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Queensland-c834 Cricket, recommended Kasprowicz for representing the state in CA, as Queensland’s new director. However, Kasprowicz will be taking on the post from his former team mate and Australian veteran
batsman, Matthew Hayden.
Hayden turned down his designation after revealing that he would be participating for his domestic team, Brisbane Heat, in the city-based limited overs competition, the Big Bash Twenty20 Tournament, set to take off later this year.
As a cricketer, Kasprowicz made his international cricketing debut in 1995, where the pacer participated in his first ever One Day International (ODI) fixture in Melbourne, against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760. A year later, the player went on to premier in his debut Test
game, against the same opponent in Brisbane. As for his limited overs debut, Kasprowicz played his first Twenty20 match in 2005, against neighbours, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754.
On a whole, with a potent cricketing profile spanning over almost a decade, Kasprowicz served his nation in 43 ODI matches, earning a handful of 67 wickets, while his Test numbers include 38 matched with a total of 113 wickets. As for his limited overs profile,
Kasprowicz, since 2005, contended in just 2 matches, earning 5 wickets.
Kasprowicz premiered his administrative roles after the player bid farewell to Twenty20 cricket after his participation in the ICL T20 Competition in 2008. Following his retirement, the former fast bowler joined the Australian Cricket Association (ACA),
as its president, soon after which, the former pacer took on the Big Bash League as a task.
“(BBL) that's something pretty exciting in Australian cricket. It’s a great thing that we can take the game further, certainly at domestic level. What (the BBL) provides for all the players is more opportunities to get noticed with eight teams in place.
There are so many good outcomes that I think everything is looking forward,” stated Kasprovicz.
