Michael Katsidis! Is he the next Arturo Ghatti?

Even in his loss he was aggressive, exciting and worthy of mention for the boxing title of the future heir to the King of Blood and Guts. What are your thoughts?

Absolutely. Even though he lost I would pay anything to watch this guy fight. Australia should be proud. He embodies that country's great soul. I love Aussies.

Yeah it looks that way he is very similar to Gatti in many ways. He has the heart of Gatti , also appear to cut like Gatti. He fought well tonight would like to see him fight again. The stoppage could have a been a little too soon. Great fight though im sure Katsidis will be back.

I like the guy but he is kind of easy to hit.  He lost and he may learn some things from it but will it transfrom him into a better fighter?

  Until we see more fights we can't we tell.  I think if he fought with a little more control he could get better,  but maybe it's that style that got him close to victory in the first place.

nah not exactly, katsidis has no skills and no chin just a brawlers mentality and the heart to go for the kill all the time.

Gatti boxed first and when that wasnt working he turned into a brawler. also gatti hada better chin so he can take shots and give them back. they just both have the blood and guts mentality

No, because I think he has the chance to be a legitimate champion. Gatti was nothing more than an Atlantic City attraction. Katsidis wouldve beat Casamayor if he just didnt get cocky, and didnt get reckless.

Don't get me wrong...I like Katsidis & he is exciting to watch + good for boxing BUT Gatti has some very big shoes to fill. From what I saw tonight; Katsidis definitely displayed guts but was so outclassed by Joel that he looked like an awkward amateur very often. ---Big Punch & Heart doesn't serve you too well unless you learn how to be a  all- around ,well-rounded fighter.---I think time will tell if Katsidis can really learn. --- He talked about making a " mental error " ---I hope he  knows that he needs to get back in the gym & work on basics.

ive seen 2 of his fights, one win and one loss, and he does have heart. he has to, to keep coming back from the cuts he takes. so yea, he reminds me of gatti the way he gets cut and keeps fighting ne way. but hes gonna have to get a better cut man or stop taking shots like that to have a legit shot at winning a belt. the experience will come with more fights.

Yes, he is tough like most Australian boxers but he just lost to a 36 years old fighter so his skills are limited.
