Michael Komkov delighted to join Kuban Krasnodar from FC Krasnodar: Russian Premier League
Kuban Krasnodar midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Komkov, has highlighted the reasons behind his decision to leave FC Krasnodar in order to join rivals Kuban Krasnodar. The Russian national reportedly signed a three-year contract with the Zhaby.
The new arrival believes that he made the right decision to choose the Kazak because they are an ambitious club with an experienced manager, Dan Petrescu. The Romanian football manager promoted Kuban to the Russian Premier League from the Russian First Division
last season.
Komkov admitted that it was a big step to leave the Byki but insisted that he needs more playing time on the pitch as he was frustrated to sit on the bench for most of the season.
“I hope that it is a good step forward. The main factor for me is the opportunity to play football, not to sit among reserves. I am especially glad to have signed a three-year contract with Kuban.” The former FC Metallurg Krasnoyarsk player was quoted as
saying.
The former FC KAMAZ Naberezhnye Chelny centre half believes that his former team coach, Slavoljub Muslin, did not believe in his capabilities as he provided him with too few opportunities.
“Of course, because this season I hardly played for the Krasnodar, though I felt the strength to help the team but the coach did not see me in the composition. I even did not get into the application. The exact answer as to why this is so, I do not know
yet.” The 26-Year-old concluded.
Komkov revealed that he is ready to help the Kazak claim a descent spot on the league table. The midfielder was off the mark in his debut match against Dynamo Moscow, scoring the final goal of the match in their previous league encounter. Kuban recorded
a landmark victory over the Dinamiki by scoring three goals and conceding one at home.
The midfielder is delighted to have scored his first goal for his new club but insisted that the Yellow-Greens need to be more focused in order to claim three points against FK Rostov in their upcoming league meeting.
