Scotsmen, Michael Leslie and Bobby Cruickshanks along with Irishman Vincent Muldoon, Malt’s Alex Borg and the Belgian Kevin Van Hove gave a tremendous performance at the round-robin stage of European
Snooker Championship at Dedeman Hotel in Sofia, Bulgaria. All the players are on top of their groups with maximum victories in group matches.
Michael Leslie from Bonnyrigg played outstandingly in the group matches and with a strong position, he topped his group. He played six matches and grabbed victory in all of them to gain a spot in
the last-32 and secure his position in the event. The 18-year-old Leslie defeated the World Under-21 Champion, Iceland’s Kristjan Helgason, during his run in Group E.
Leslie’s compatriot, Bobby Cruickshanks, was another Scottish cueman who made a strong impact in the championship and with six wins in his six matches, he topped the group easily and has made his
way to the last-32. Cruickshanks is one of the top contenders to claim the last spot of pro tour.
Another tremendous performer was Ireland’s Vincent Muldoon, who booked the number one position in his group. He played six matches and was victorious in all to surge into the last-32. Muldoon also
has the tendency to make major upsets as he has his eyes on the championship title to go pro in the upcoming season.
Another sensation worth watching was Malta’s Alex Borg, who stepped into the Dedeman Hotel arena in six matches and came out conqueror in all of them. The Maltese Champion is looking forward towards
global success after he grabs the title, as he has booked a place in the last-32 of the tournament after leading Group B.
Among all the mentioned above top contenders, Belgium’s Kevin Van Hove, has finished his run in group matches and has finished first in his group with seven victories in seven group matches. He is
surely in the initial rounds of the championship along with the others, and must be looking forward to take the European glory back home.
The last-32 matches will commence on Tuesday, June 14 at the Dedeman Hotel in Bulgaria’s capital city of Sofia. The tournament ends on June 17 with the winner to grab pro tour spot.
