Michael Leslie aiming to bring back his good form during new season – Snooker Update
Previous snooker season did not bring any good news for the Scottish potter, Michael Leslie as he was unable to book his place in the professional circuit and participated only in 2011-12 Players Tour Championship (PTC) Series. In all those events, Leslie
was unable to win any of the tournaments and tumbled down in the standings.
The Scotsman was not down at all due to his lower performance in the previous snooker season. He participated in the 2012 World Snooker Qualifying School (Q School) and earned his place in the new snooker season. He participated in the 2012 Wuxi Classic
snooker tournament qualifying session where he lost to the English potter Paul Davison by the score line of 5-2.
He tried his luck in the qualifying session of the 2012 Australian Goldfields Open snooker tournament but could not succeed and tumbled down at the hands of Welsh potter Duane Jones by the score line of 5-2. His hopes to make an appearance in the first two
events ended which was quite disappointing for him but the youngster is still quite determined to believe in his abilities.
While speaking to the local media, Leslie said, “I have taken a lot from some of the advice I have been given. Chris Small told me that he lost his first seven matches when he turned professional and he ended up winning a ranking event. There are no easy
games now. I saw Robertson last year playing Jimmy White down in at a tournament in Gloucester and he is a class act, but they are all good at this level.”
He added, “I will need to be at the top of my game to beat him.”
The young snooker star will have some more chances in the new season and he believes he can perform well in the next tournament. He will be participating in the 2012 Shanghai Masters snooker tournament in China, which will be another interesting game for
the youngster to prove his class.
It will be interesting to see how Leslie manages to build up some much needed confidence and become more competitive in his game-play as he looks to taking on some of the top guns of snooker in the new season.
