Michael Leslie outplays Thepchaiya Un-Nooh in final frame – 2011 World Snooker Q School, Event 3
The Scottish professional, Michael Leslie, defeated Thepchaiya Un-Nooh by a frame score of 4-3 in the best-of-seven frames Round 2 match of the Event 3 of this season’s World Snooker Q School on day three.
The last event of this year’s World Snooker Q School is being held at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield.
The Thailand’s professional, Un-Nooh, who previously shrugged off the Englishman Sean O’Sullivan in the Round 1, has fallen down in the Round 2. However, it was an accomplishing performance from the Scot, as he came far superior to his opponent in all departments
and cruised into the next round.
It was a close competition and the overall score-line between both players was 88-38; 89 (89)-0; 0-92 (92); 26-88 (65); 24-57; 56-2; 77-45.
The opening frame was a scrappy affair, as many chances were squandered by both players. However, in the end it was Leslie who came on top to draw the first blood 1-0. The second frame was over within a blink of an eye, as Leslie gave no chance to his opponent
and produced a superb break of 89 to further extend his lead by 2-0.
It was an exact opposite story in the following third, as Un-Nooh showed his break building skills and knocked in a dazzling match-high break of 92 to come within one frame at 1-2. He then also pocketed the fourth and fifth frames with a top break of 65
and went in front at 3-2.
It looked as if Un-Nooh was going to win before the Scottish bounced back into the game and won both the sixth and seventh frames to register a 4-3 win.
There were no big breaks in made in the last two frames but the flawless safety skills of the Scot were enough to take him to the finish line.
