McClune warded off the only breakpoint he faced and cashed in two out of three break chances to pocket the breadstick.

All in all, the top seed ruled throughout the 56-minute duel as he smacked 10 vicious aces and held his entire serves. McClune manifested a better first serve share of 69 per cent as compared to King’s 58 per cent and amazingly
availed 34 out of 43 points on it.
King on the other hand spilled more errors and committed six double faults. He also failed to cash in any of the five break chances he found and ended the match with 45 points.
The second seed, Clement Reix will accompany the American in the next round. He broke McClune’s compatriot, Maciek Sykut, serve six times and lost his serve twice, sealing the deal with a 6-3, 6-2 score line in 76 minutes.
