Whether Mr Moore is a committed Christian or not, we don't know. But he appears to share the mistaken view held by many theists that God is behind hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunami, etc., that he somehow 'send' them. This is a primitive view of God and is unworthy of the One revealed by Jesus Christ. God is not behind the scenes pushing buttons to send pestilences or luck. He has made things to get on with it and if the conditions create hurricanes or calm, then they happen without his meddling. Hollywood also has to take the blame for repeating this false image of a deity that keeps meddling in our affairs, weather, etc. Let's leave Him out of our catastrophes.

Well who was the preacher who prayed for rain during Obama's big night at his convention & he did say it was meant as a joke but if a liberal said that, they would be crying to Fox news & weather condition call for rain during the Republican Convention & how ironic is that? All liberals don't share Moore's views just like all conservatives don't share Limbaugh's views
