The veteran Scotsman has an interesting selection dilemma at his hands given the quality in depth of the Manchester United strike force.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Owen-c25355 and Diouf along with Berbatov and Macheda were given a run out against Leeds United on Tuesday evening as Owen impressed in the first half with two goals which helped the Red Devils gain a 3-0 win over their rivals in the Carling Cup. Owen has been in and out of the Manchester United squad since his arrival at Old Trafford, sometimes due to injury but mostly due to the form of Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov.

Michael Owen spoke about United’s win over Leeds and the competition at Old Trafford for places in the starting line up after the match as he said, “The first half was pretty good, we passed it around really well and made it tough for them. The second half wasn’t so good. We were obviously trying to keep possession and wear them down a bit and obviously we lost a man and we didn’t have any subs."
Speaking about his goals, he added, “One was a bit of mishit and one as sweet as I hit them, so quite contrasting. It’s always nice to score, that’s what my game has been about over the years, but you also try to contribute in other areas. I was pleased with the goals. I’m trying to be an example to young kids and help them through if needs be. At 31, I obviously have a few years left in me but there are different roles you have throughout your career and at the moment I’m doing that.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 man also stated, “The pressure’s on before the game in many ways. You don’t get many chances so when you do you have to perform or otherwise it’s going to be a couple of months before you see a pitch again.” Owen will be hoping that he has caught the eye of United’s manager through his two goals with Premier League ties against Stoke City and Norwich City coming up along with a UEFA Champions League fixture against F.C Basel at Old Trafford.
