Manchester United’s Michael Owen has hit back at all the critics who targeted http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-de-Gea-c10463, following United’s loss to Liverpool in the FA Cup.
United went on to concede an early goal to Liverpool, as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Agger-c9884 headed the ball into the back of the net early on. However, The Red Devils then went on to level later on.
Just when it seemed like the match would end as a one all draw, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dirk-Kuyt-c11348 struck with just a few minutes left on the clock and gave Liverpool the lead in the game.
The Red Devils couldn’t bounce back and ended up crashing out of the tournament at the hands of their arch rivals.
Following the game, a number of critics and United fans lashed out at De Gea and his inability to goal keep.

The striker, when talking about De Gea is quoted to have said: "Admittedly he has made a couple of mistakes this season but listening to some people you would think he had a nightmare yesterday.”
"The ball was on the six yard box for the first goal. He has to go for it. He also needs to watch the flight of the ball. There is then six players in front of him. There is nothing he could do. The free header was the problem, not the keeper.”
"He couldn't do much with the second goal either. Is the problem not just a case of us not winning the first ball and not picking up a runner?”
The fact that De Gea was picked ahead of Lindegaard in the game meant that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 attacked, the manager is more than likely to end up using Lindegaard for United’s upcoming games.
However, despite all of Owen’s claims, what can be sais assuredly is that De Gea needs to get his act together, because his level of performances are just not at par with what United expect of him.
