Michael Owen says he is happy when he plays for Manchester United– English Premier League
Michael Owen has come out in the media and responded to criticism aimed at him that he is happy at Manchester United as he is always on the bench by stating unequivocally that he is not content when he is not playing for the Premier
League champions. Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 striker made his mark on the club’s fans by scoring against Manchester City in his first ever Manchester derby.
Some fans at United have been unhappy with Owen’s stay at Old Trafford and as a result, these groups have been calling for Owen’s sale from Manchester United but Sir Alex Ferguson has stuck with his veteran striker despite his
injury troubles. Owen got a rare run out for United against Leeds United in the Carling Cup on Tuesday night and he proved his doubters wrong once again by scoring two goals in the Rose Derby.
Both of Owen’s goals against Leeds United were trademark finishes from inside the box after space opened up for the Englishman following a succession of crisp passes. Owen rarely got a look in into the Manchester United first team
last season as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 also picked up form near the end of the last season which meant that Owen was usually relegated to the bench or some sporadic
substitute appearances.
Michael Owen said in his latest interview, "I'm not content if I'm not playing. I get criticised a lot with things like 'you don't play, you pick your money up' and all the rest of it but I'm not proud of that fact. I want to play
all the time. If the season was going to be like the first season I was here, then I'd be delighted. That was fantastic and I felt involved. I was always either on the bench or playing.”
He added, "Obviously I want to be involved again but I appreciate that there's some top players in the team and in the squad and it's a challenge to get on the bench let alone into the first-team. The best players in the world
can have a bad game and if I have a bad game tonight, you can see the criticism before it even starts.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Owen-c25355 would have certainly caught Sir Alex Ferguson’s eye with his brace against Leeds United and now the Englishman might be on the bench or even in the starting line up for United’s next league encounter against Stoke
City which is scheduled to take place over the upcoming weekend at the Britannia stadium.
