Michael Owen unsure of his future with Manchester United: EPL News

Manchester United’s rarely-seen striker Michael Owen has claimed that he is unsure of his future at Old Trafford. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international’s contract with the Red Devils will end in the summer, and so far, the club have not shown any signs of allowing the striker to extend his stay.
However, Owen's situation is being monitored by a number of other potential suitors. Leicester City manager and former England national squad coach Sven Goran Eriksson is reported to be interested in Owen. Leicester City are gearing up for a fight for promotion to the Premier League next season, and Eriksson sees http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Owen-c25355 as the perfect person to lead the charge.
The striker has been plagued with injury problems since before he joined Manchester United, and his fitness hasn’t improved during his two years at Old Trafford. Since arriving in 2009, Owen has featured in just 37 games for the club. In fact, most of his appearances have been from the substitute’s bench.
Despite his problems, the former Newcastle United player is still a formidable striker. Owen has scored 13 goals for United in the limited time he has been given on the pitch, showing that he is still more than capable of finding the back of the net should a chance present itself.
However, his failure to overcome his injury problems, may just result in his departure from Old Trafford at the end of the season. The return of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Federico-Macheda-c13475 from loan will also factor into manager Sir Alex Ferguson’s decision about whether or not to offer Owen a new contract.
So far though, the striker’s future at the club seems bleak. Speaking on the matter, Owen said, “I’m not sure about my future yet – my contract expires at the end of this season. I’ve made no secret that, in an ideal world, I’d extend my stay here. I’d love to play here for longer but I’ll just wait and see what the club say to me. We’ve not held any talks yet."
Manchester United currently lead the Barclays Premier League table with 66 points.
