Manchester United attacker, Michael Owen, has welcomed United’s interest in the highly-rated Aston Villa winger, Ashley Young, and he is looking forward to play with the English winger at Old Trafford.
Young has only a year remaining on his contract with Aston Villa and has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United since the end of the Barclays Premier League season. It was reported that the 25-year-old had already agreed personal term with
Manchester United before going on vacations.
Young’s transfer to Manchester United looks set to be completed in the coming days as the English midfielder has reportedly passed a medical with Manchester United.
Michael Owen sees Young as a great signing for Manchester United and said, “I see Ashley Young has undergone a medical today. Let's hope everything goes well as he would be a great signing for us. [He is a] very good player. [He] can play in a few different
positions [and is a] brilliant crosser of the ball. Let's hope all goes well and he signs.”

Aston Villa’s newly appointed manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 McLeish, has also confirmed that Young is on the verge of joining the Barclays Premier League Champions.
He said, “It's not confirmed yet [Young’s transfer to Manchester United] but it does seem likely. In my humble opinion it will be very difficult [to keep hold of him].”
Manchester United are likely to pay a reported £15 million for Young, who is set to become United’s second signing of this season.
Young was one of the most consistent members of the Aston Villa squad as he scored 9 goals and directly assisted a further 14 in the 39 appearances that he made in all competitions.
