Question:

Michael Phelps' swimsuit? How are people responding to him NOT using the LZR speedo?

There was a lot of hoopla about the new LZR Speedo giving a technical advantage to swimmers, hence the fall of so many world records since its introduction. I feel this new suit surely does provides some competitive advantage equivalent to "technology doping".

However, whenever I see Michael Phelps swim (with the exception of his relays where he's dressed the same as his team mates), he never seems to be in the LZR--just the pants. What do people make of this?

He seems to be smashing world records but just wearing the pants and not the full body suit. Are these LZR Speedo pants as well? Does anybody know?

  1. I think whatever works for him best is what he goes by. I don't really care. As you can see the other swimmers aren't beating Phelps anytime soon, so I don't really think the LZR Speedo helps that much. I think it is kind of a waste of money. It's how you swim not what you wear. Besides I think the LZR Speedo is heavier than the regular Speedos because it is made out of more material.

  2. He does wear the lazr they make it without the arms, there are very few suits that have arms. I mean I cannot believe that speedo since they sponsor the usa, would allow him to not represent their suit.
