Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte favourites to win gold titles - 2011 FINA World Championships
With the FINA 2011 World Championships less than a week away, predictions as to which swimmer will dominate proceedings in the event have begun to instigate between experts and spectators. The prestigious event is going to be held in Shanghai, China, from
July 16-31.
The 14-time Olympic champion, Michael Fred Phelps of United States, is predicted to win gold medals in the three Men’s events, whereas, triple Olympic champion, Ryan Lochte is deemed to nab three gold titles also.
Phelps is scheduled to compete in three Men’s events including the Men’s 200m freestyle, 100m and 200m butterfly. Initially, Phelps will be up against Tae Hwan Park and Ryan Lochte in the Men’s 200m freestyle meet. More importantly, he has an absolute chance
of winning the gold medal in this event. Hwan Park is expected to grab silver, while Lochte is deemed to win bronze.
He is also considered to be the hot favourite to secure the gold in the Men’s 200m butterfly, whereas, Takeshi Matsuda is asserted to hold silver. Laszlo Cseh is expected to grab bronze in the respective meet. Phelps is also conjectured to take hold of the
Men’s 100m butterfly title. Meanwhile, Milorad Cavic is assumed to snare silver and Laszlo Cseh is predicted to win bronze.
Olympic gold medallist, Ryan Lochte of United States is a hot favourite to win the gold medal in the Men’s 200m back-stroke event. Ryosuke Irie is assumed to pick silver, while Tyler Clary in contemplated to snatch the bronze medal.
He is also predicted to clinch the Men’s 200m Individual Medley crown, whereas, Michael Phelps is evaluated as the second seed. Laszlo Cseh is suspected to nab the bronze title.
Additionally, Lochte is asserted to secure the gold title in the Men’s 400m IM meet. Laszlo Cseh is also assumed to end second, while Tyler Clary is predicted to end his swim third.
On the other side, Cameron van der Burgh is expected to clinch the Men’s 50m back-stroke title, whereas, Kosuke Kitajima is supposed to hold the Men’s 100m back-stroke crown. Naoya Tomita is predicted to snare the Men’s 200m breast-stroke and Cesar Cielo
is believed to secure the gold medal in the 50m butterfly.
United States is one of the best contenders for the Men’s 400m freestyle relay title, while they are also predicted to capture the Men’s 800m freestyle crown. In addition, France is assumed to snag the Men’s 400m medley relay event.
