Michael Phelps and coach going into business together...?

I read this on Yahoo a minute or two ago.

Doesn't his ability in the pool extend from his physical attributes? He may not can coach worth a hoot, yet people will pay for him to teach them simply b/c he won gold medals... If a person doesn't have the athletic ability or form to compete professionally, do you think Phelps and his coach will not charge them?

Phelps is fortunate to have the physique of a great athlete (it's in his genes) and he worked and concentrated hard to get to where he is today. My bet is that he'll get hooked into Hollywood, marry some s***k, have a few kids, get divorced, have more kids, get divorced, etc.

Michael is not going to coach. The plan is to buy a stake in the North Baltimore Aquatic Club where Michael grew up swimming.  The club owns a pool and is trying to buy an adjacent skating rink where they will build a nicer training facility.  Then they will recruit professional swimmers - mostly college post-grads - and build on the current NBAC which has a few hundred age-group swimmers. The business will also teach swim lessons.  At the end of it all, they could have more than 500 competitive swimmers and fill a couple pools with swim lessons - which are very profitable.
