Michael Phelps to wear Speedo at London Olympics 2012
The world’s fastest swimmer, Michael Phelps, has recently revealed the swimsuit that he will be wearing while making a show of his skills at the London 2012 Olympics. The swim suits have been designed by Speedo, which has created its new range of swim suits
in a skin tight fashion. The makers of the swim suits claim that they are designed in such a way that the performance of the swimmers will experience an increase.
The new range of swim suits were displayed by Phelps along with his team-mates Natalie Coughlin and Ryan Lochte. The three swimmers along with others displayed the swim suits designed by Speedo on the catwalk in Manhattan. The new ranges of swim suits have
been named "Fastskin3".
As explained by Speedo, the new range of swim suits will give an edge to the swimmers wearing the costumes over other contestants without them. The swimmers wearing Fastskin3 suits will have space-age caps as well as goggles that are wider. These features
of the swim suits will increase the performance of the athletes and enable them to make better times than before.
Tom Waller, who is a scientist as well as a doctor for Speedo, commented on the new range of swim suits in the following manner: "These are the fastest suits ever made. We hope that means records will be broken but that still comes down to the swimmers.
What we have created is a system where all the technologies work in harmony with the swimmers' natural talent to give them the chance to maximise their potential."
The coach of the world’s fastest swimmer, Bob Bowman, played his part in the development of the swim suits. Bowman shared his views on the subject by making the following statements: "In a sport where gold medals are decided by hundredths of a second, that's
a huge advantage.”
Phelps will be making a show of his skills wearing the swim suit in London next year where the Olympics are being staged for the third time. The first time that London played host to the Games was in 1908 while the second time was in 1948.
