Michael Rogers wins the second stage of the Bayern-Rundfahrt 2012
Team Sky cyclist Michael Rogers had a couple of good performances in the current season but struggled to bag a top podium spot.
However, the cyclist has now found his winning ways during the stage 2 of the Bayern-Rundfahrt 2012.
His supreme form was evident during the 195.6 kilometre chase to Kempten at the second stage of the German race.
While commenting on the stage victory Rogers mentioned on TeamSky.com, "It was quite close there at the end but I'm certainly really happy to take the win, it’s been a good couple of years since Tour of California when I last took one”.
"No matter where it is it's always a nice feeling and especially in the fashion the team rode today it's great to finish it off."
"I'm sure there will be a few surprises tomorrow but I'm quietly confident that with the team we have here can handle anything that the race will throw at us”.
“Then I'm sure the general classification will come down to the time trial".
The 32-year-old finished 3rd during the Criterium International, 4th at the Tour Down Under and achieved the 5th overall position at the Tour de Romandie 2012.
