Michael Schumacher aims strong result in his 300th grand prix – Formula 1 news
Mercedes driver, Michael Schumacher is aiming to attain strong results in his 300th grand prix which will be held at Spa-Francorchamps next week.
Schumacher began his Formula 1 career in the Belgian Grand Prix back in 1991 as a replacement of Bertrand Gachot at Jordan. Moreover, it will be important to mention that he took his first race victory at Belgian circuit and won further five races there
during his career.
Furthermore, it is to be noted that if the seven-time world champion takes part in the forthcoming race then he will become the second driver after Rubens Barrichello in the history of the sport who will participate in the 300th GP.
In addition, the record championship holder said that he is confidently looking forward to perform well in the upcoming race and hopes to achieve competitive results. Besides, he said that he has a very special association with the track of the approaching
race where he scored his first race victory.
“Spa is like my living room; for me, it's clearly number one race track in the world,” he said. “It's uncanny how I always seem to have special moments there my debut, my first win, world championship victory and many great races.”
Additionally, he said that he is proud to claim himself second most experienced driver in the F1 history and is eying to score reasonable points in the race ahead.
“The fact that I will also take part in my 300th grand prix at Spa was somehow almost inevitable and we will have to celebrate it in the right way. I'm proud to be just the second driver in history of sport to reach this milestone and there's no question
that we are looking to have particularly nice weekend,” he added.
Although, the veteran German driver struggled a lot during the last couple of years and was completely outperformed by his teammate, Nico Rosberg, however, he has performed comparatively well in this season and has secured an amazing podium finish in the
European GP.
Over and above, it will be thrilling to see how the legendary driver comes up in the remaining races.
