Michael Schumacher claims he does not regret his mistakes in his career – Formula 1 news
The upcoming Belgian Grand Prix is going to mark Michael Schumacher’s 20th anniversary in Formula 1 and according to the 42-year-old, he does not regret the mistakes that he has made throughout his career and that he is proud of his achievements.
“Certainly I guess in any person's career you look at it and you think well, what has happened? You take a summary, you make almost an account, and I have to say that in my case taking the twenty years, taking all that I've been doing, certainly going backwards
I would do certain things different,” he said.
One has to admit that Schumacher is the best driver in Formula 1 to date statistically but his character throughout his Formula 1 career has been quite controversial as he has been quite ‘stubborn’ at times.
He has 7 championship titles to his credit which is the most number of titles by any driver in the sport. Other than that, he also holds the record of most wins alongside a handful of more records which at the moment seem unbeatable.
The German driver has not been able to stay away from Formula 1 for long as he decided to retire in 2006 after which he rejoined in 2010 with Mercedes GP. He is still driving for the team despite the fact that he has not been able to achieve his goals which
is considered as one of the mistakes he has made in his career.
“But then in life I think you have to do some mistakes to understand that it is a mistake and to sort of set your guidelines. I guess that the vest that I'm wearing inside me is pretty white, and I'm pretty happy about this. I've not many regrets and overall
certainly feel very excited and proud of what has happened,” said Schumacher.
However, he is hoping to score better results in the future as well and claims that he will not rest until he achieves his goals with Mercedes GP which is headed by one of his best friends Ross Brawn.
