Michael Schumacher eagerly looks forward to 2012 Indian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Mercedes driver Michael Schumacher has said that he is eagerly looking forward to perform well in the 2012 Indian Grand Prix and is expecting a great reception at Buddh International Circuit.
Schumacher praised the success of F1 debut of India in the preceding season. Moreover, he said that he was extremely impressed by the love and support which he received from his Indian fans during the last year. Besides, he admired the track of the Indian
GP and said that he is hoping to see same level of enthusiasm of the spectators which he witnessed during the previous year.
“The Formula 1 debut of India last year was certainly a success,” said Schumacher. “There were a surprising amount of fans during the weekend, and the track itself really is cool. We drivers were given a very enthusiastic reception, and it will be interesting
to see if this enthusiasm has remained as strong.”
Furthermore, he said that after facing difficulties in the last couple of races, they are eying to attain competitive points in the remainder of the season so as to secure a good position in this year’s championship.
Additionally, he said that they are working at their best to make the necessary step-ups in their car and are aiming to maximise the opportunities in the approaching races.
“After two races which have not been totally satisfying, we naturally wish for a more positive trend to come, and I can say that everybody in the team has put in a lot of effort to achieve it. Let's see what we can make out of it,” the German driver added.
It will be important to note that the seven-time world champion has decided to take retirement from the sport at the end of the current season. Even though, he has not been able to achieve his goal of winning the world championship title after his return,
nevertheless, he is not upset and is feeling pleased with his overall achievement in his career so far.
