will further help in preparing for the race ahead as the same weather conditions have been forecasted for the whole week.
“There are still things to be learned on days like these and the positive about today's rain was that it is also forecast for tomorrow and Sunday,” he said. “This meant that we were able to use today to prepare for the race, primarily on the wet tyres.
He added, “We also tried the intermediates briefly but they were no faster in these conditions. The rain was constant, which allowed us to at least complete some parts of our programme. Today's sessions went okay and, in any case, we know that at this circuit,
with its particular characteristics, rain offers us good chances and opportunities.”
Furthermore, he said that they didn’t face much difficulty on wet track during the practice sessions and now they are looking forward to the third session so as to make further progress and the considerable preparations for the forthcoming race.
The veteran German driver had suffered a lot due to some technical issues in the car and could only score 2 points in the first seven grands prix. Nevertheless, he made a striking comeback in the European GP and secured an incredible third podium finish
after setting off from 12th grid position.
