Michael Schumacher is ready to strike back in 2012 European Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Mercedes driver Michael Schumacher has said that he is ready to strike back in 2012 European Grand Prix which is to be held at Valencia Street Circuit in Spain on June 24.
Schumacher has only been able to score 2 points in the season so far and has retired in five out of first seven grands prix. In the season opener held at Albert Park in Melbourne, Australia, he struggled with the gearbox issue. Later on, in the third race
at Shanghai International Circuit in China, he faced problem with tyre which was improperly fitted during the pit stop.
Afterwards, in the fourth race at Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, he faced problems with DRS activation. Later, in the sixth race at Circuit de Monaco in Monte Carlo, he retired due to fuel pressure failure. Above and beyond, in the seventh race
at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal, he had a DRS malfunction which became the cause of his retirement.
Although the veteran German driver has delivered some impressive performances in the qualifying of several races, however, he could not be able to convert his competitive grid positions into a podium finish in either of the race.
It will be important to mention that the team principal of Mercedes, Ross Brawn said that they are trying their best to resolve the issues which have been faced by the record championship holder and are focusing to provide him with a competitive car for
the approaching races.
Meanwhile, the seven-time world champion is not feeling disappointed and is confidently looking forward to perform well in the forthcoming race.
“Our entire focus is now on race in Valencia, and I am sure that everybody's motivation is even stronger because weekend in Canada didn't go as well as we had hoped,” said Schumacher. “Our motto in last few days has been to roll our sleeves up and focus
on job in hand; everybody in team has taken that approach to heart, so we can travel to Valencia in an optimistic mood.
He added, “You can still feel some of the atmosphere from the America's Cup in Valencia, which makes this race a special event that we always enjoy taking part in.”
