Michael Schumacher positive after the Italian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Michael Schumacher of Mercedes is positive about his performance at the Italian Grand Prix as it depicts an upward performance trend.
He managed it at the 6th place and told that his car had started performing better by the end of race.
The seven times world champion said that his car was improving with the passage of laps and it felt to him as if the laps were less. If there were more laps he might have ended at some better position than 6th.
He said, “It was a fun race today - although I must admit that, following our performance on Friday, I had secretly hoped we would be able to move up the field. But we had a tricky first stint.”
Furthermore, he appreciated the efforts of his team as he believes that the rising trend should continue and believes that they have achieved the maximum they could have, in the event.
“After that, everything went really well, we were on the pace and I think we showed a clear upwards trend today. I kind of ran out of laps this afternoon and, if the race had been a bit longer, I'd have been able to battle even further forward. Overall,
though, we got everything out of it today,” the seven times champion said.
Same comments were expressed by the 7th position holder, Nico Rosberg, teammate of Schumacher, in the Italian GP. He told that he had improved speed after his first pit stop. He added that it is nice to finish at a good position and he is looking forward
to the next, Singapore Grand Prix.
At the Italian GP, Schumacher adopted two pit stops strategy which added 20 seconds to his race time.
The German driver attained 6th position with a gap of 31.2 seconds from the race winner, Lewis Hamilton, of McLaren whereas his gap from Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus was 0.4 seconds only. He started the race from the 4th grid.
Let’s see whether the seven-time champion is able to sustain his uprising trend in the remainder of the season or not. The elevated trend depends on his car as well because the German driver is pushing as much as he can.
