Michael Schumacher says he was not happy with 2011 Indian GP Qualifiers performance – Formula 1 news
Mercedes GP driver Michael Schumacher has said that he was not satisfied with his 2011 Indian Grand Prix Qualifier’s results.
Schumacher added that he had huge gap from his teammate Nico Rosberg in the end of Q3 and therefore, he was disappointed with his show.
The German managed to secure 11th position for the 2011 Indian Grand Prix in Q3 after running on the sets of soft and hard tyres by Pirelli, while his teammate Rosberg secured the seventh position for the raceday held on Sunday,
October 30 at the Buddh International Circuit.
Schumacher discussed his qualifying round of the Indian race weekend and commented, “At first I hit some traffic, and then on my final run in Q2, there was again vibrations on the set of tyres which I used which was not helpful. Saying that, this certainly
does not explain the time gap to Nico so we need to understand what the reason was for that and get on top of it.”
The seven-time world champion went on to mention, “As for the race tomorrow, this should work out better for me, and my aim undoubtedly is to score some points. I’m not really sure which side of the grid will be the better one, so I will just take it from
there and try to gain as much as possible.”
After starting the Indian race from the 11th place at the recently unveiled Buddh International Circuit, Schumacher finished the Grand Prix at the fifth position with a gap of 65.4 seconds behind the race winner Red Bull Racing’s
Sebastian Vettel.
On the other hand, his teammate Rosberg was 66.8 seconds off the pace of Vettel and after running in his MGP-W02 car, he came at the sixth position in the final race classifications.
After the successful Indian race weekend, both Germans are looking forward to the last two rounds of the 2011 Formula 1 season, which will be taking place in Abu Dhabi and Brazil respectively.
Mercedes GP are placed at the fourth place with 145 points in constructors’ standings at the moment.
Let’s see how both of the drivers manage the last two races of the season following their impressive show at the Indian GP.
